Design and Analysis of Normal Shape and Normal Alignment (NSNA) Socket in Juvenile Amputees

Normal Shape Normal Alignment (NSNA) sockets were compared with quadrilateral ones. Casting procedures and fit and alignment of the NSNA socket in juvenile above-knee and PFFD patients were illustrated. The kinesiology laboratory provided objective comparison of kinematic, force plate, and temporal data on subjects with both socket designs, especially lateral trunk lean, hip and pelvic motion and width of walking base.
