Ulnar Deficiency

Congenital absence of the ulna is a rare deformity. Over the last thirty years the Area Child Amputee Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan, has seen 61 patients with 71 involved limbs. Various classification schemes are reviewed. Treatment modalities which have been undertaken for these patients include prosthetic fitting, orthotic fitting, and surgery. Functional outcome is described.
