Foot Abnormalities in Fibular Deficiency

A review of foot anomalies associated with fibular deficiency is the purpose of this project. The study of 153 charts and x-rays of patients with fibular deficiency exposed bony coalitions, ray deficiencies and abnormalities of orientation. The possibility of lengthening and corrective techniques (i.e., Ilizarov) will be influenced by these foot abnormalities.

It has been accepted that early Syme's-type ankle amputation is/was the best option for early and optimal fitting with a prosthesis and ultimate functional status.
