The Prosthetic Team: An In-Patient Training Program

The Prosthetic Team offers an in-patient training program in the use of all types of upper extremity prostheses. The program serves children lacking access to community-based training as well as those who receive follow-up therapy services. Specific features and advantages of the program include focus on individual needs/goals, family involvement/education, and interdisciplinary follow-through on incorporation of the prosthesis.
Information will be provided on developmentally appropriate approaches and skill-building tasks for 3 age groups: toddlers and pre-schoolers, elementary school children, and adolescents.
