2017 MEETING OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this annual meeting are to present and evaluate new ideas, techniques and methodology and treatment of children with limb deficiencies, and to provide the participants with an opportunity to clinically evaluate and directly interact with proponents of new research knowledge pertinent to the management of these children. Participants will hear and view presentations in a variety of formats including scientific paper presentations, posters, symposia, and special presentations. There will be an opportunity for speakers to present challenging cases and creative solutions. A technical and scientific workshop format is used to present new approaches and ideas to difficult or unsolved problems.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Physicians, orthotists, prosthetists, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation engineers, physical and occupational therapists, and other health professionals who care for children with orthopaedic and related disabilities will benefit.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Association of Children's Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credits are allocated as follows: Thursday - 6.5, Friday - 6.75, Saturday - 4.25.

AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants and registered nurses may receive a maximum of 17.5 hour of Category I credit for completing this program. ABC Credits

The ACPOC Annual Meeting has been approved for a maximum of 23.25 credits through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC), Inc. Full participation in this program is required to be eligible for the full amount of credits. Credits are allocated as follows: Wednesday Technical Workshops - 5.25, Thursday - 7.0, Friday - 6.75, Saturday - 4.25. Sign-in Sheets will be available at each session. An additional credit will be given to those who fill out the Category II Application Form for Exhibit Hall Attendance.

OPC Credits

The ACPOC Annual Meeting has been approved for a maximum of 22 MCE credits through the Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). Full participation in this program is required to be eligible for the full amount of credits. Credits are allocated as follows: Wednesday Technical Workshops - 6.0, Thursday - 6.0, Friday - 6.0, Saturday - 4.0.

TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS
Wednesday, March 22, 11:30 AM start. ARRIVE EARLY. Separate registration is required.

Exhibiting companies Ability Dynamics, Fillauer Companies, Martin Bionics, MD Orthopaedics, Ottobock, Surestep, and Vorum, will be given the opportunity to conduct forty-five minute Technical Workshops. These Workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, from 11:30 AM to 6:15 PM (please see Program for more details). Plan on flying or driving in early to attend. All Workshops and Demonstrations are free to the registered participant. Attendees will receive CEU or MCE credits for attending. NOTE: Although there is no extra charge to attend any of the Technical Workshops, please be sure to sign up for them on the registration form so that we can record your attendance. Limited seating is available.

PHYSICIAN GUIDED CASE STUDY FORUM

This will be a moderated, but informal session, open to all disciplines. Anyone can bring in a case for discussion with their peers. If you'd like to present to the group, please email the title and brief description of the case to the ACPOC office at . Due to HIPAA, please do not bring patient(s) or patient's family with you to this session.
