Prosthetic Development: A Case Study

One congenital, high-level, lower-limb amputee illustrated prosthetic development from the time of first fitting in a sitting device through standing devices, primary ambulating devices and, finally, sophisticated ambulatory prostheses. The patient's deficiencies consist of a hip disarticulation on one side with an above-knee amputation on the other. Functional problems and answers concerning all phases of the patient's progress were discussed.
