The Natural Development of a Quadrilateral Amputee


S.F. is a nine-year quadrimembral amputee, who has been followed through Gillette Children's Hospital since her birth. The paper will outline the various stages of development of Sonya with pictures and videotapes of her advancement through these years. It will demonstrate the various treatment programs outlined for her and the methods which Sonya has learned to cope with her environment.

In summary, we will demonstrate the natural skills inherent in a child with this disability in the recognition that knowing the potential will help greatly in the planning.
